Digital Media I
Fall 2022 - ARCH 2311 - Various Projects
Beginner Digital Media was taught in the fall of 2022, consisting of five main projects focused on developing productive workflows between Rhino, V-Ray, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. The course began with a plan mashup in Rhino, which then led to a worm’s-eye oblique drawing. Next, we explored design precedents and the importance of a cohesive color scheme. For the final project, we visited Piazza di Italia in downtown New Orleans and used a precedent to reimagine and draw the abandoned area revived in that style.

Parametric Shapes Series
The first project series involved generating complex forms and projecting parametric patterns, creating intricate designs with over 10,000 lines rendered instantly. Building on these studies, the second project reimagined one of the forms as a playful dollhouse concept, incorporating dynamic patterns and multi-level spatial design.
For the final series, I applied both parametric modeling and fabrication skills to create a physical model. The design features a series of concentric circles decreasing in size from 3 inches to 0.2 inches, with each layer rotated by -5 degrees, resulting in a sculptural and dynamic form. This project emphasized the integration of computational design and physical craftsmanship.
