Collective Housing Series
XS Spaces
The Spring semester of 2023 (Studio 2022) began with a series of quick residential projects, each with specific restrictions. I started by designing a houseboat, focusing on a compact space that serves as both a living area and a bedroom, with an integrated bathroom, and rooftop deck.

The Horizontal Home
This design adhered to a single-story restriction and required at least 30% of the footprint to be dedicated to courtyards. To enhance privacy, the home featured no exterior windows, relying instead on courtyards for natural light and ventilation.

The Vertical Home
With a reduced footprint of just 420 sqft, this five-story design emphasized verticality and included a rooftop patio, demonstrating efficient use of space while maintaining livability.

The Sectional Home
Focused on sectional qualities, this project prohibited a ground-level floor, requiring all access via stairs. The resulting design highlighted dynamic spatial relationships and connections between levels.

The Inhabited Stair
Lastly, in this series, the Inhabited Stair project focused on designing creative uses for stairs that could serve as a community element. I chose to design a concentric circle-shaped water park and created a study model of one of the pools.
